Fun Picure

Here's a fun picture of me being filmed at dialysis for the motivational video/documentary that is being made about my life as a dialysis patient. Don't I look like a celebrity?!?

Vacation / Dialysis and Traveling

Its been awhile since I updated MyKidney Blog - and for good reason! I've been on vacation since the middle of May. Since May 15th I've been to Virginia Beach, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; San Diego and San Francisco, CA; and Las Vegas, NV. Dialysis has never stopped me from traveling, although I have yet to try traveling overseas. I am currently in Ramona, California (near San Diego) until next Thursday when I will go back up to the San Francisco Bay Area to get my son Alek and take him home to Florida (he's been at his dad's house for a summer visit). I've been dialyzing at the DaVita Mission Dialysis in El Cajon, California for the majority of my vacation.

Aside from dialysis I've done a lot on my vacation - attended a friend's wedding, attended my little brother's wedding, on driving trips in a new Lotus Elise (that's a really fancy, fast car for those of you who might not know), visited several beaches, the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park, spent too much money on numerous shopping sprees, partied at comedy clubs and at couple of bars, spent hours riding with a friend on his motorcycle... and most important of all...

Ken proposed to me in Las Vegas and we got engaged on June 25th! Yes, I'm getting married!

My vacation is winding down and I'm looking forward to getting home - back to My Ken and having my son home again. Although my vacation has been a wonderful "break from the norm" there is something to be said about going home, too.

Plus, I miss all my friends at my home dialysis unit. I'll be home soon, guys!!!
