Since I've been on vacation I've taken fewer and fewer put-me-to-sleep medications. I think it might be because I'm getting a lot of exercise and actually feel sleepy at night when I go to bed. I'm sleeping better for the first time in ages. Maybe I can ween myself completely off of the sleep drugs. Wouldn't that be nice?

I seem to have a better treatment when I get started off with 200 cc's of saline at the very beginning of my treatment (right after I'm hooked up and running). I pull fluid so easily that this seems to compromise for the extra they pull off for rinse-back. My vacation dialysis has been going wonderfully with only one minor mishap at the Northern CA unit I went to. Mishap = me showing up to the wrong unit (doh!) but we figured it out pretty quickly. Talk about stress! For a second I had visions of having to go to a hospital...

I'm finally on my vacation in California :) Right now I'm in the San Diego area and I have my treatments at the same place I did last year - Mission Dialysis in El Cajon, CA. The charge nurse tells me DaVita is selling their unit because of the DaVita/Gambro merge... I sure hope not, because I love it here! I want to come back next year and know its going to be the same...
